It's time to knock the cobwebs off your dancing shoes and kick up your heels in Todd.
The winter dance season begins Saturday with a pot luck dinner and an open mic for anyone who wants to call a dance. Circle, square and contra dances are among those performed. The musicians will also be playing musical chairs, with a rotating cast of performers.
The Nov. 21 event will be held in the Todd Mercantile on Railroad Grade Road. The pot luck dinner begins at 6 p.m. and the dancing will begin after the food is gone and the tables are cleared.
The dance schedule for the rest of winter, subject to change, includes Jan. 15, Feb. 26, March 19, Apr. 16 or 17 (another caller's open mic night) and May 7. Dances start around 7:30 p.m. A suggested $5 donation is divided among the performing musicians, and everyone is invited.
Anyone who is interested in calling dances or playing music can call Cecile Gurganus at (828) 262-1953 or Emilie Enzmann at (336) 877-5401.
