The Appalachian Brass Choir will perform Nov. 10 with the Hayes School of Music organ and brass faculty at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall at Appalachian State University. Admission is free.
The brass choir will perform Bach’s “Koum, Susser Tod,” Traci Mendel’s “Summer Twilight On the Mountain,” Giovanni Gabrieli’s “Sonata Octavi Toni” and Rogers and Hart’s “Where or When.”
Works for brass and organ will be featured during the second half of the program. Compositions are “Grand Choeur Dialogue” composed by organist Eugene Gigout, “Pavan-Almand” and “Ayre” written by Charles Matthew Locke, a composer for King Charles, and “Cortege” by Gaston Litaize, a 20th- century French composer and organist.
