Fundraising donor
management workshop A fundraising donor management workshop is being offered for nonprofit
organizational staff and board of director members. It's a custom-designed workshop for nonprofit
organizations to evaluate how well their organization scores against best practices for donor
relationship management. Included as part of the registration fee, workshop leaders will provide
attendees with informational handouts, an assessment tool, and a certificate for one hour of
consulting with your board of directors on topics related to donor management practices. The
workshop will be held at the N.C. Cooperative Extension Office conference room on Nov. 4 from 5:30
to 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Registration is $30 per person, and nonprofit
organizations may register one additional person from their organization for free for each paid

Thursday, Nov. 5 Moe at Legends Moe will perform Nov. 5 at Legends
on the ASU campus. Presented by APPS Concerts. Perennial progressive rockers, moe, make their return
to the Appalachian campus. This quintet made up of two guitars, bass, drums and percussion, have
been making their mark on the music industry since the late 1980s. They have produced 17 albums,

Annual entrepreneur summit The Center for Entrepreneurship at
Appalachian State University would like to invite all interested parties to the eighth annual Carole
Moore McLeod Entrepreneur Summit on Nov. 6. Multiple concurrent sessions will run at 9 a.m. and 10
a.m. in the Walker College of Business. A keynote speech by Matthew Szulik, chairman of Red Hat, and
the 2008 Ernst and Young National Entrepreneur of the Year, will take place at 11 a.m in Valborg

‘A Dulcimer
Christmas' Presnell's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church will present its 10th annual "A
Dulcimer Christmas"on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Matney Community Center in Matney, located

mountain dulcimers made by Edd and Nettie Presnell will be presented by Susie Hepler, granddaughter

"Cool" experiences. The group will travel to Linville Caverns for a tour/walk below ground. And then

Holocaust Film Series The Center for
Judaic, Holocaust and Peace Studies is presenting a series of documentary and feature films. The
film "Triumph of the Spirit" will be presented Nov. 8. Based on a true story, this film follows the
nightmare of a Jewish boxer from Greece who literally fights for his life to entertain SS officers
in Auschwitz, knowing that each victory condemns his opponents to the gas chambers. Oscar nominee
William Defoe presents an extraordinary story of life and death in Auschwitz during the Holocaust.
This is the only commercial film ever filmed on location in Auschwitz; (1989) 120 minutes. It will
be presented at 2 p.m. at Greenbriar Theater in ASU's Plemmons Student Union. It's free and open to
