On Friday, July 16, Blevins Building Supply held their grand opening celebration at their newest location at 485 Beaver Creek School Road.

Along with watching the traditional cutting of the ribbon to signify the opening of business and being introduced to the staff, those stopping by the event were able to investigate some of the items sold in the store being demonstrated by factory representatives and even get a hot dog or two for lunch.

A tour of the new supply store was also on the agenda for those who were interested. This gave those lucky enough to win a gift certificate a chance to redeem it right away. Other door prizes were also presented.

The interior of the store is spacious and designed with the customer in mind. The merchandise is traditional home improvement and construction materials, tools and all the odds and ends needed to complete home repairs or supply the job site. There is easy access to inventory and sales associates available for assistance if needed such as in the well-stocked lumber yard.

According to Bill Blevins, owner and operator of Blevins Building Supply, the family started in the building supply business in 1946 to fill the need of maintenance and construction in Roaring Gap and Sparta. Since that time, "it has been our goal to bring you, the home owner, builder, contractor and construction company, the finest building materials possible at reasonable prices.

"It's also our desire to supply all your needs for building, be it a nail, screw, plumbing fixture, complete home or major construction, with the need for fast, dependable delivery, and striving to be the very best.
